Hello again,
The Scandinavians have famously interesting ways of chasing away the winter blues. First, they developed the Swedish massage to feel good. (So good it's used in over 70% of US hospitals for pain management and stress treatment.)

Then, led by pioneering designers like Alvar Aalto, they created warm and durable furniture to brighten up their homes as well.

Feeling good and looking good. Hmmm, not a bad combination. Read on for more on driving those winter blues away. Enjoy -Spring is coming soon.

Tell me what you think....

I love it when research bears out what we've known all along. But I love it even more when it shows how much the medical establishment has embraced massage as an alternative or complementary treatment for stress and pain management.

With over 70% of hospitals in the US now incorporating massage therapy into the treatment of serious ailments, perhaps it's time to apply the technique to those mid-winter blues.

The Aalto CollectionHerman-Miller's newly introduced Aalto Collection is really something to behold — and be held by.

There's a spirit-lifting warmth and comfort that exudes from each piece, both as an icon of modern art and as incredibly practical and embracing furniture.

When winter chases you indoors, there's nothing quite like curling up in an Aalto chair with a really good book. Click here, on the picture or on the headline above to read more about this fabulous collection.

I see an interesting trend emerging: more and more of you in all sorts of businesses are working at higher-than-usual desks or at counters that require higher-than-usual seating. My advice to all you "higher achievers" is to take a good look at the latest crop of ergonomic stools and drafting chairs from companies like BodyBilt, Humanscale and Steelcase.
