Sittin' & Thinkin'
May 2003

Hello again,
Someone asked me the other day how I got into the chair business. My answer was that I'm not in the chair business...I'm in the stress reduction business.

After all, that's what well-engineered chairs (or desks or other office essentials) do: they reduce pain and stress because they are comfortable by design. I don't see the comfort and support that a good chair provides is a luxury at all. Stress lowers productivity and a good chair lowers stress. It's just that simple.

Since stress is such a pervasive problem, I thought it an issue worth addressing in this month's Sittin' & Thinkin'.

Tell me what you think....

Stress is a sneaky beast. A little can be a great motivator, helping us meet whatever challenges we face. But too much stress tears at the very fabric of our physical and emotional health.

Fortunately our bodies send out lots of early warning signals. Understanding your body's signals can help you recognize your stress response, find ways to counteract stress and lead a healthier life. I'll bet your body is sending some these signals to you right now. Click here to see if I'm right.

One of the things I find most exciting about the whole subject is the increasing role technology is playing to bring the benefits of massage therapy to more people more frequently. Yes, technology.

In this article I take a look at the benefits and origins of this art/science and how more people than ever are enjoying this incredibly rewarding experience. Will you be one of them? Click here to see.

While on the surface you'd think that "technology" and "massage therapy" are mutually exclusive, the reality is this: The state of the art in massage recliners has a lot of people sitting down and taking notice.

These beautiful leather recliners get the endorphins flowing big-time. Turn on some soothing music, close your eyes and you can just feel the stress melt away.
