Hello again,
This month we get into leather...furniture, that is. First, I'll give you some tips on caring for and refurbishing your leather chairs (and other products). I'll also tell you a few things about the classic leather Eames Lounge chair you probably didn't know.

For our business customers, I'll run down some important benefits of financing your ergonomic office seating and accessories vs. other payment options. You can help your employees' health and well-being and cash flow in a single stroke.

And as an added bonus, I'm including some of the feedback I got from last month's article about industrial design. It seems you readers have plenty of opinions! Enjoy.

Tell me what you think....

My family has been in the business of selling and recrafting fine leather shoes since 1897. So you can understand how the subject of leather care would come up more often than usual in our household.

That sort of exposure made me somewhat of an expert on keeping high quality leather goods looking their best. Click here for a summary of what you need to know to take expert care of your leather furniture, shoes, handbags and garments.

The Eames Lounge & Ottoman
Probably the most widely recognized of all Eames furniture designs, the Eames Lounge Chair has been occupying a favored place in thousands of living rooms, studies, libraries and dens for 50 years now.

It seems the only photos you ever see of it shows the classic black leather look. Soon, though, things will be looking much brighter: Herman Miller has reintroduced the ivory (or, more precisely, "marmor") leather version.

Looking after the health, well-being and general morale of your employees can sometimes take a back seat to other parts of running a successful business: like keeping your customers satisfied and managing your cash flow, your lines of credit and your tax liability. But that's a slippery slope, to be sure.

We now offer a leasing option that helps you improve all these things simultaneously. Is financing right for you? You'll certainly want to consult your accountant, but you might first want to click here for some important points to consider.

Feedback from last month's article

In last month's newsletter I discussed what I see as the difference between good industrial design and great industrial design. I asked for examples from you readers. Here's a sampling of the feedback:

Rhonda K. of Chicago, IL sounded off about the poor design of grocery shopping carts. Terrible for the back, not efficient and not enough room to protect the squishables.

Bill P. of Memphis, TN had a few things to say about cellular phones. He'd hate to do without his, but is annoyed by buttons that are too small and too many features that are too complicated to use.

Robert E. of Decatur, MI sang the praises of Apple's iPod — a great example of a great design and great usability.

Stewart P. of Providence, RI went on record as a huge fan of the Aeron chair: "it doesn't get any better than this."
