Sittin' & Thinkin'
July 2003

Hello again,
In last month's newsletter I introduced you to the most significant advance in office seating since the Aeron — the new Mirra chair from Herman Miller. (If you missed it, you can read about it by clicking here.)

So it's not surprising that office designers, interior designers and facilities managers have embraced Mirra in a huge way and for interesting reasons.

But here's an even more interesting fact: the very first truckload of Mirras to leave the Herman Miller factory will be arriving at our warehouse in just a few short weeks...I can hardly wait!

Tell me what you think....

Before we get to the Mirra, I want to warn you about a deceptive practice being employed by some less-than-upstanding corporate citizens out there. There are companies peddling low-quality imitation versions of the classic Eames, Nelson and Noguchi designs. Unsuspecting customers are getting burned, and they're not the only ones.

Click here to find out the dirty little secrets behind these knock-offs and how you can avoid falling victim.

The Mirra breakthrough

Award-winning Mirra Chair

Being based in Chicago, we always enjoy when our industry's biggest tradeshow comes to town each June. It's called NeoCon and it truly is the world's trade fair for interior design and facilities management.

Each year a panel of 32 judges all of whom are accomplished interior designers and facilities managers tour the manufacturer showrooms at The Merchandise Mart and personally evaluate new products in 28 different categories. The very best are awarded Best of NeoCon 2003 Gold Awards.

The new Mirra chair took top honors in the "Seating: Desk/Workstation Task Chairs" category. Click here to find out why or on the picture to get your hands on one.

And remember: for a limited time, we'll take $50 off the price for our preferred customers. To take advantage of this offer, enter MIRRA50 as the promotional code. Or, if you use our toll-free 1-877-MY-OFFICE number, just mention the code to the certified product specialist.

What Green Means to You

Earth-Friendly DesignThere is an important movement afoot among designers and manufacturers that I think deserves attention and applause. The industry lingo for it is "sustainable" or "green" design.

In plain English it means designing and building products that are Earth-friendly in as many ways possible. More and more, designers are specifying recycled (and recyclable) materials and working on manufacturing processes that go easy on the environment and natural resources.

Click here to learn more about how "green" design is helping to make the world a better place to sit and live.

We get letters..just click here

Yeah, we're different"I ordered my chair on a holiday weekend and still received it in only three days. All online shopping should be so easy and efficient!!!"
